The eighth season of Love Island made for another unforgettable summer in Mallorca. No matter how much drama happened in challenges or around the fire pit, this year's group of islanders usually end up laughing together before too long, like the end of a Davide and Ekin-Su spat.
Since cameras film the islanders 24 hours a day, they catch all the romance, drama, friendship and laughter. And the weirdness. Plenty of subtle, strange moments happen, and eagle-eyed viewers took to Reddit to post about the subtle things they noticed.
Davide Tripping Over What Shoes To Wear
Davide came off reserved at first, but as he warmed up to everyone around him, he became one of the biggest personalities in the villa, and he's often hilarious. His laughter and jokes with Ekin-Su and the other boys demonstrate his excellent sense of humor, and it's an incredible feat to have a grasp on humor in two languages.

On Reddit, Beautiful-Cap6168 shared a video of the funny scene in which Davide needed everyone's advice of which shoes to wear, and ssoreo commented, "The little trip and then all the girls disagreeing with him. It's such a good moment."
Luca's Reaction To Adam Entering The Villa
Luca has a lot of confidence in his relationship with Gemma and believes it will go the distance, but he has a lot of jealousy still that shines through in the villa, especially if Gemma is talking to another guy like Billy or Adam. In fact, it's Adam's arrival that created a funny Luca moment that some fans caught. When the boys are away at their spa day, they have no idea that the game is changing back at the villa as Adam Collard arrives and begins talking to the ladies. When coming back to the villa, Luca is at first boisterously yelling "Honey, I'm home!" He then sees Adam talking to Gemma and just says, "Oh." As That_Sweet_Science points out, "it was so subtle but so funny."
Gemma Doing A Funny Walk
When it comes to the best sense of humor in the villa, Gemma may not be the first name on fan's minds, but she definitely has one and can be very funny. Gemma's entire personality is pretty low key, so it's fitting that her humor is dry. But it turns out, she has a small moment of physical comedy that some fans noticed.

When returning from a pretty physical and sporty challenge with her team, Gemma leads the way doing Conor McGregor's walk, with her arms loosely swinging and her posture a certain way. StopTheFeed shared a comparison video saying, "Gemma is funny."
The Extent Of Indiyah Mixing Up Names
Poor Indiyah. She's not trying to upset Dami when she accidentally says Deji. It's clear that she and Dami have a way stronger connection than she and Deji ever did, and Dami is the only one on her mind. The names just both start with D's and end with I's, so it's a mistake anyone could make. However, fan Debzflame points out that Indiyah seems more prone to switching up people's names, saying "Indiyah’s Name Switch Parallels: So funny how she called Remi “Reggie” and Dami “Deji”. She’s representing us who mix up names on the regular lol!" The comment is attached to a picture of Indiyah's Reggie mix up moment as well.
Davide's Open Eyed Kissing
Not long ago, The Bachelor Matt James was made fun of all over the internet and on the show itself for his open-eyed kissing, and now the very popular islander Davide Sanclimenti is the new culprit. While it's not as noticeable and he may not be doing it every time, he's definitely guilty of this move to a degree. Reddit user katedigby pointed it out with a Squidward meme with eyes closed that reads "regular people kissing" and eyes open that reads "Davide when kissing" with the caption, "Why is Davide like this?"
Ekin's Facial Expressions
Ekin-Su, beautiful Love Island bombsehell that she is, totally lacks a poker face. "Actress!" isn't just something that was yelled at her by an angry Davide, she is an actual actress, so she's likely spent a lot of time working on being emotionally expressive, and on Love Island, she's on camera every moment and fans are catching the subtleties in her emotions, even from second to second. Namrata_H shared the clip of Ekin saying, "Is he going to pick me?" followed by "I'm happy he didn't pick me," complete with the caption, "Why do I find this so funny. her expressions crack me up." It's clear even when Ekin says she's happy that here eyes seem somewhat concerned.
Jacques Using His Arm And Leg To Measure
Jacques had an emotional exit from Love Island, especially because of his tight Love island bromance with Luca, and while the women in the villa were incredibly supportive of Paige moving on with Adam, a lot of fans were still hung up on the connection of Jacques and Paige. Back when they were holding hands from two separate beds. Fan hollow_ling12 shared an image of Jacques using his arm and leg stretched from one bed to the other, testing the distance during the daytime. Moments like that come and go so quick during the show, they're easy to miss.
Dami Hovering Over A Conversation
All in all, Dami is one of the more trusting men in the season 8 Love Island villa. He got a little annoyed with Indiyah and the name mix ups, and the return from Casa Amor was pretty icy, but he overall knew what he had with Indiyah. Before their epic Love Island re-coupling though, didn't feel certain with Amber though, and one fan noticed some awkwardly funny body language. Early on in the show, Dami was keeping a close eye on Amber and Reggie talking on a daybed, by standing on his knees on the very end of the daybed. With Dami's height, it looks more awkward that a kneel. That_Sweet_Science shared a screenshot of Dami's interesting overseeing position.
Adam Looking Into The Cameras
Some viewers have an eagle eye and can really pick up on subtle things. While Adam Collard does a decent job coming into the villa and blending with the rest of this seson's Love Island cast, some fans noticed a behavior related to him having been on the show before this.

On Reddit, mowmoybeb posted, "Adam seems VERY aware of all the cameras on the show and keeps making direct eye contact with them which is so awkward and funny." Maybe Adam is confusing this with The Office UK.
Davide The Outfit Repeater
In The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Lizzie is called an outfit repeater and goes on an epic trip to Italy. On Love Island, the Italian Stallion Davide is also an outfit repeater, as it turns out. Fan lilapiz observed that Davide was wearing not only the same shirt, but the pants and shoes as well both on the night of Ekin's first crawl onto the terrace, and in a sweet moment between them as a couple in which he brings her a homemade dessert. Davide evidently changes moods easier than he changes outfits.
