FAQ:

I wanted to know more about the archivist

You can follow me or support me here:

https://linktr.ee/heartolazor

Could you add another system/console/etc?

No, due to the sheer size of ps1/ds/saturn/megacd/mame sets, those are better uploaded as a single entry in the archive.org to improve the user experience downloading the files. For more modern consoles, I prefer to wait more years to be sure they are abandonware.

Can you update the set?

Sadly it is very hard to upload big files in one go to this site and the torrent files are generated from the first upload. This could lead in broken torrents after updating files. Direct downloads from archive.org doesn't have this problem and are always updated.
I have uploaded this torrent in one go (2 days uploading the file) so the torrent is complete, and an update could break it.

I notice some weird decisions though like using some Sonic roms from the DS game Sonic Classic Collection instead of the originals?

Retool was used for the filters to remove duplicates. For example if you have Chrono Trigger Jap, Us, Us1.1 and Eur, retool leaves only the US 1.1 version. For the same reason if retool picked a wrong better version for some reason (very rare), the users should fill a report in the https://github.com/unexpectedpanda/retool github to improve the tool filters

Changelog:

10-01-2021:

  • First upload.

Subject: BIOS Zips

I see several consoles have BIOS zip files in addition to the ROMs. My question is do we need to unzip these BIOS files to our BIOS folder or leave them with the ROMS zipped and the say atari 7800 rom will access the necessary 7800 bios zip from the atari7800 rom folder?

Subject: problem noticed

some of the kept roms were bad choices such as

Sega - Mega Drive - Genesis.zip
------Sonic The Hedgehog (USA, Europe) (Sonic Classic Collection).zip

this wont run on emulators, all other versions will run on emulators

the main reason one would want this is to play and it ended up with dumps that are broken.

serious one of the better ideas for ROMsets in the modern age. Thank you SO much for compiling these! Makes setting up flash carts a lot better. This is a great base to start from, and then you can add any special exceptions or hacks to the build later.

Just a heads up, none of the .LNX files are working on Handy or Mednafen. I'm guessing you have bad files that are named .LNX but are really other files that have been renamed incorrectly.

Here is a link to a working set if you want to make updates to your files.

Thanks for this mate. This is like what I need, mostly I need only 1 rom for each game and that was the english ntsc version. Would be good if you can add the english patch version for japan only game. Because most of the time a non native japanese speaker like me would never play japan only game especially if it was game with many story script. Oh and 1 thing please make this but for DS and 3DS and CD Based Console like Sega CD, PC-Engine CD, etc

Just a heads up in regards to the x68000.. while you uploaded "Nemesis '90 Kai (1993)(SPS)(Disk 1 of 2)(System).zip", the necessary second disk containing the data, seems to be missing.

I suspect it should be named "Nemesis '90 Kai (1993)(SPS)(Disk 2 of 2)(Data).zip" based off revisions I've found.

Hi,

Thanks for your work this set is what I looking for.

But I need some help to use it. I'm using an ubuntu machine with retropie installed on it. And I have some problems with bios.

For example, amiga looking for kick13.rom. I can see there is a lot of bios file in this pack but none of them is kick13.rom. Which one should I use? Do I need to rename it or do I need to get this file somewhere else? Do I need different bios for different games? Do I need to change the bios if I wanted to try another game? How can I identify which bios should I use for a game?

Thats a lots of questions, if you have some time please make it clear for me.

Regards

Subject: Good for consoles, microcomputers not so much.

It's a valiant effort, and probably a good choice for console sets, but the microcomputers represented here have only a fraction of what's available in their whole gaming libraries. So bear in mind you're missing hundreds (or thousands in some cases) games for them if using this collection.

Thanks so much for giving the 1G1R treatment to the no-intro roms. I notice some weird decisions though like using some Sonic roms from the DS game Sonic Classic Collection instead of the originals. FYI to anyone who can't get Sonic 1 to run on GenesisDX, just go get the Genesis download from the updated no-intro redump page and use the original Sonic 1 that doesn't say "(Sonic Classic Collection)". IDK why GenesisDX won't run the other one, anyway thank you for the hard work and putting together this collection.

In NES collection there was games that have more different in regions, can you place in this games in archive?

For example Tokkyuu Shirei Solbrain(JP) Shatterhand(USA) have:

Protagonist: In the Japanese version, the player controls a police officer in a robotic suit, and in the western version, a cyborg.

Satellites: Visually different.

C Level: In the Japanese version, the action takes place in an amusem*nt park, and in the western version, inside a submarine. And also at level C the soundtrack sounds different.

Superweapon: In the Japanese version, the flamethrower time lasts twice as long as the fire suit in the western version.

Upload completed, enjoy.

@pipse DS maybe in future, I will need a bigger hdd for ds and ps1/saturn/megacd full sets and the trimmed versions, so when I get one I will do those systems in separated uploads because of the bigger size.

@idareu2 That happens because it is very hard to upload big files in one go to this site and the torrent files are generated from the first upload. Also this results in broken torrents after updating files. Direct downloads from archive.org don't have this problem and are always updated.
I uploaded this torrent in one go (2 days uploading the file) so the torrent is complete.

About 3ds, I don't plan to upload that, maybe in the next nintendo console generation.

This is just an update to whats been avilable for a while. what about adding some more sysytems.
And why are the torrents on this site for collection all faulty and only download the first few of a set...Pointless in updating or having them on here if they are only downloading a portion of a set.
